Wanda WalterDecorah – July 12, 2016 – Wanda Walter is retiring from her position as a Mortgage Banker, AVP, of Decorah Bank & Trust. Wanda has been with the company since 1974.  Executive vice president, Joe Grimstad, states, “It is with mixed feelings that we announce the retirement of our beloved and much appreciated Wanda. She is thought of as the hardworking, committed, and friendly banker that always wants the best for others.”

Wanda began her 42 year career helping in the accounting department for her first few weeks. She quickly moved to the lending area where she also assisted customers in opening checking accounts. She was also a back-up teller when an extra hand was needed. Eventually, Wanda moved to the mortgage lending area where she was an assistant until she was promoted to a mortgage banker and officer in 1997. In this role, she helped the Bank become the leading mortgage lender in the area. Wanda has proven to be a well-loved and appreciated member of the team who has given thoughtful attention to her colleagues and thousands of customers over the years. She’s made home ownership possible for a lot of people in the area.

There will be a retirement open house for Wanda in the lobby of Decorah Bank & Trust Company from 11am – 2pm on Friday, July 15, 2016. Everyone is invited to stop by this celebration of our friend and colleague.

To our dearest Wanda: We wish you all the best, and we hope you enjoy a happy, healthy, well-deserved retirement!
