Meet our eBanking Specialist, Ben Wells

Some call me e-Ben, simply because the name Ben is already taken by Decorah Bank’s CEO, Ben Grimstad, and I happen to enjoy submerging myself in the mysteries of technology. My work as the eBanking Specialist for Decorah and Cresco Bank allows me to help people, just like you, to conquer bank tech issues.

Banking related tech challenges that I can help you with include the following: Browser support, mobile check deposit support, eStatement support, Internet Banking support, mobile phone banking support, and tablet banking support.

Common questions I receive pertain to eStatements not showing up correctly or someone might not be sure how to install the mobile banking app. No problem. It generally only takes a brief phone call to get you on your way. I am also happy to walk you through any of our banking technology products. My goal is to make these tools easy and useful for you!

Please feel welcome to call or stop by the Decorah office at your convenience. Appointments are welcome to dedicate the needed time to get you up and running smoothly. As every device is different, I encourage you to bring your laptop or tablet in as well, so I can assist you on your personal device. Don’t let technology slow you down – be sure to look me up.   1. Just wondering if Decorah Bank is working to add ApplePay capability to your debit or charge cards. If so, is there a rough time frame?

  2. Dear Jack, thanks for your question. We are aware of emerging technologies and payment systems like Apple Pay. While we strive to be community leaders in offering new products and technological advances to our customers, we must wait for our card vendor to be certified for Apple Pay. When that time comes, we will evaluate the offering of it, and make further announcements at that time. Currently, we have no target date for when this will happen.

    We live in Decorah from May through mid-October and the rest of the year in Pasadena, California; my husband, Rudy, and I have two accounts with DBT and sometimes have to deposit checks, which we always send snail mail from CA. Would I be able to deposit these checks with my mobile phone, Ben? I have a couple of busy days today, Tues, Jan. 6, and tomorrow, but, perhaps, we could set up a time on Thursday, Jan. 8 to talk on the phone about mobile banking.

    I’ve been waiting awhile for this, Ben, and am excited. However, I’m in my 70s and need quite a lot of help sometimes with the tech functions.
