  1. Once I deposit the check via the mobile deposit, what do I do with the check? What if the picture of the check is not clear? How do you know what account I would like it to be deposited into? Is there a page on your webpage that I can go to to get these questions answered and see more information regarding mobile deposits? Thank you!

  2. Hello Vicki –

We received your questions submitted, and I hope I can provide some clarity for you here!

    Q. Once I deposit the check via the mobile deposit, what do I do with the check?
    A. We recommend you keep the check someplace safe for 30 days at home. After that 30 day period, I would recommend shredding, or cutting up the check and disposing of it. If you don’t have a shredder, a black permanent marker over your account number and any other personal information is a good idea before you cut up the check.

    Q. What if the picture of the check is not clear?
    A. The app will tell you if the image is not readable or recognizable as a check when you try to submit it, and have you re-take the picture. I would recommend taking the picture in a reasonably well lit area to avoid any problems with clarity.

    Q. How do you know what account I would like it to be deposited into?
    A. The app recognizes what accounts you have with us, and will ask you to select which eligible account you would like it to go to as part of the submission process.

    Q. Is there a page on your webpage that I can go to to get these questions answered and see more information regarding mobile deposits?
    A. Absolutely! We do have a designated mobile web page that can be seen here http://www.decorahbank.com/mobile/ or if you just go to the banks main page, and look at the links toward the bottom of the page, you will see “Mobile Banking” listed as an option you can click, and will take you to the mobile information page.

The answers and instructions to these questions and even more can be found in the app – before you take the photo of the check there is a disclaimer that gives detailed instructions on processing. I encourage you to try it out, and feel free to let us know if there are any other questions we can help you out with!

Thanks, and have a great day!
